PIERS MORGAN branded Mesut Ozil a ‘lazy, manipulative wastrel’ ahead of the German’s imminent Fenerbahce transfer.
The Arsenal-loving TV presenter is never one to mince his words and took to Twitter to air his thoughts on the outgoing playmaker.

Morgan tweeted: “Loved @MesutOzil1088 when he first came to Arsenal.
“World-class player with a sublime natural talent.
“Now I can’t wait to see the back of the lazy manipulative £350,000-a-week wastrel.
“You could have been a club legend, Mesut – but you just couldn’t be bothered. Bye.”
Ozil, 32, joined Arsenal from Real Madrid for £42.5million in 2013 but his performances have failed to justify the bumper new pay packet he agreed in 2018.
He played his 254th Gunners match on March 7 – registering 44 goals and 77 assists for the club – but has not featured since the initial lockdown last season.
The 2014 World Cup winner was then axed from both Mikel Arteta’s Premier League and Europa League squads this term.
With six months left on his contract, Ozil has reached an agreement with Emirates bosses to terminate his deal after waiving a chunk of his remaining £7m salary ahead of joining Fenerbahce on a free transfer.
Fenerbahce sporting director Emre Belozoglu had said: “Mesut is closer than ever. He is a superstar, a player who has contributed to a goal in every other game at every club he has played for.”
As revealed by SunSport, the midfielder was due at the London Colney training ground on Sunday morning, when he was set to say goodbye to team-mates before tomorrow’s clash with Newcastle.
In a Twitter Q and A session last week, Ozil — who is of Turkish heritage — revealed: “I grew up as a Fenerbahce fan as a kid in Germany.
“Fenerbahce is like Real Madrid in Spain. The biggest club in the country.”
