Now the BBC has launched its first picture from The Vicar of Dibley’s return, with Geraldine poised with a beaming smile alongside Hugo Horton (James Fleet).
Following the loss of life of actress Emma Chambers in 2018, who starred because the lovably ludicrous Alice Tinker, Hugo’s drippy spouse will still be ‘incredibly present’ within the upcoming mini episodes.
‘Throughout lockdown, put up lockdown and pre-another-lockdown, Geraldine has been writing and delivering month-to-month sermons to her parishioners by way of Zoom…when she will make it work,’ teased a BBC synopsis.
‘These new ideas on life (and chocolate) will air after repeat showings of basic episodes of the multi-award profitable The Vicar of Dibley, this Christmas on BBC One.’

Producer Richard Curtis added: ‘Like each village within the nation, there’s been loads occurring in Dibley this 12 months – and Daybreak has received loads to say about it.’
The Vicar of Dibley initially ran on BBC One from 10 November 1994 to 22 January 1998, after which from 24 December 1999 to 1 January 2007.
